Easter at Newcastle Baptist Church

Feature-Easter
The Easter season reminds us of the great debt owed by mankind and the extreme cost of our redemption. In the death of our Lord Jesus Christ we witness the greatest ransom ever paid - the penalty for our sin.

We owed a debt we could not pay - He paid a debt He did not owe!

The strife is o'er, the battle done;
The victory of life is won;
The song of triumph is begun:
Hallelujah!
Lord, by the stripes which wounded Thee,
From death's dread sting thy servants free,
That we may live,
And sing to Thee;
Hallelujah!

You are very welcome to come along to our Easter Services

Planning your Visit

A Warm Welcome!

If you're coming to our church for the first time here's some information you may find helpful. A warm welcome will await you when you come along.

We meet for worship (details here) every Sunday morning at 11.00 a.m.  - do check "What's On" just in case there are any changes!

Our Services

Our Sunday services are informal; we sing hymns and songs, pray together and read the Bible. A key part of our service is what we call the sermon. This is a Bible based talk of 20-30 minutes giving us teaching and instruction that we can apply to our daily lives. You will find our Sunday Morning Services Livestream by clicking here.

Every Sunday as part of our Sunday services, we have what we call "Communion". This is where we set aside time to specifically remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our forgiveness. At this time we share bread and wine together. If you are not a believer, and not trusting in Christ alone for salvation, we are happy for you to stay and observe this part of the service.

We also meet each Wednesday night at 7.30 p.m. for Bible Study and prayer together. This is another informal meeting which lasts for about an hour.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

What about my kids?

We have programmes lined up for kids of all ages each Sunday morning:

  • Creche (birth to pre-school ) Children under 6 months are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent/grown-up at all times.
  • Shine  (for Primary School Children. They will leave the service at approx 11.15 a.m.)

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At the appropriate time someone will announce that it's time for the younger members to go to their various groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, praying, music, craft, fun games and free play. Please don't forget to pick your children up as soon as the service finishes!

Getting Connected

Home Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our home groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. Check out Home Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a home group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.

Other Activities

We also run the following ministries:
